Chief Executive Officer & Founder

John Schwarz, the Co-Founder and CEO of Visier, is responsible for the company’s overall strategy, culture and organization development.

John has a lifelong commitment to the continuing improvement of business performance through the use of technology.

Prior to founding Visier, he led and doubled the size and profitability of Business Objects from 2005 to 2010 through seven strategic acquisitions and a merger with SAP. Following the SAP acquisition, John joined the SAP Executive Board and oversaw the successful integration and expansion of SAP’s business intelligence business.

John was President and Chief Operating Officer of Symantec during the period of its biggest expansion from 2001 to 2005. He began his career in technology at IBM, where over 25 years he contributed to the evolution of IBM from a hardware to software-and-services led business.

John is a respected industry expert and has been covered in publications such as NYTimes, WSJ, Forbes, Entrepreneur, Fast Company, TechCrunch, and VentureBeat.

John is a Director on the Boards of Synopsys, Teradata and Chairman of the Board of Avast as well as a former board member of SuccessFactors and Verity, and a member of the Dalhousie University Advisory Board.

Visier’s co-founder and CTO, Ryan Wong is known for his industry-leading technology expertise and business acumen. With more than twenty years of Enterprise Software knowledge and expertise, Ryan Wong has pioneered some of the Business Intelligence industry’s leading technologies and products. At Visier, he oversees the Technology and Product Development, as well as the company’s day-to-day business operations. Prior to Visier, Ryan held senior engineering roles at Business Objects and, after their acquisition by SAP, was the Vice President of Engineering for the SAP Business Objects BI platform and tools. Ryan joined Business Objects from Crystal Decisions, where he was the original author and the Chief Software Architect for the Crystal Enterprise platform.

A seasoned software executive, Dave Weisbeck’s experience ranges from building development teams to growing multi-billion dollar businesses as a General Manager. With twenty years in the information management and analytics industry, Dave’s prior roles include developing Crystal Decisions and Business Objects products and product strategy. Most recently Dave was the Senior Vice President and General Manager responsible for Business Intelligence, Enterprise Information Management, and Data Warehousing at SAP. Dave holds a position on the HR.com Advisory Board.

With more than 20 years in growth and revenue marketing leadership roles, Visier CMO Christy Marble has extensive experience leading multinational marketing teams in the technology sector. Prior to joining Visier, Christy was CMO of SAP Concur, where her multi-national teams lead omni-channel product marketing, digital, brand, communications, demand generation, and market-expansion strategies. Christy joined SAP Concur as Vice President of Enterprise Americas Marketing, progressing to Senior Vice President of Global Product and Distribution Marketing and CMO, and played an instrumental role in the company’s rapid demand growth and market expansion.

Prior to SAP Concur, Christy was head of marketing at Vertafore, launching the company’s first cloud solutions. As Vice President of Brand and Consumer Marketing at Sallie Mae she oversaw the integration of acquired brands including Upromise, and grew the consumer brand to a $1B portfolio. Previously she led partner marketing, production and services at internet marketing and online couponing pioneer E-centives, and held numerous marketing, strategy and management roles at Claritas, a database marketing software and segmentation company.

Christy completed a Chief Marketing Officer program at Kellogg Executive Education after earning her MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles – The Anderson School of Management. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Pepperdine University.

With more than 25 years of experience consulting and working in HR, Paul Rubenstein has extensive expertise in leading the transformation of Talent Strategies and HR Functions, with work spanning M&A integration, corporate strategy, total rewards, outsourcing, and service delivery design. Paul most recently served as Visier’s Vice President of Advisory Services where he worked with senior executives from Global 2000 organizations to help them drive change through data-driven HR practices. Prior to Visier, Paul was a partner at Aon Hewitt, where he advised large enterprise HR leaders on talent and HR function strategy, and was the general manager of the leadership and assessment businesses. Paul’s experience includes global consulting at Mercer and working in the HR functions of Home Box Office, Scholastic, and Hyatt Hotels.

Adam Binnie’s passion is creating new products for customers that leverage analytics to transform how they do business. Adam is an analytics software veteran with more than twenty years experience, and has created wholly new analytics software and solutions for organization like SAP, Business Objects, and Crystal Decisions. His experience ranges from leading development, to developing alliances, to general management. Most recently Adam was Senior Vice President of Development for the “Internet of Things” at SAP. Prior to that he was General Manager for Business Intelligence at SAP.

Ju Wu has over twenty years experience in analytics, and was one of the original creators and developers of the industry-changing product Crystal Reports at Crystal Decisions. Ju has been critical in the creation of leading edge products at Business Objects, SAP, and now Visier. Prior to joining Visier Ju was Vice President of Development for Cloud Analytics and Social Solutions at SAP. Ju is a big believer in happy coding.

Visier’s Chief Customer Officer, Nigel Stoodley has over two decades of experience building teams that focus on customer success in the Business Intelligence industry.

After starting his career as a Naval Officer in the Canadian Navy, Nigel discovered his love for software and data analysis. He joined his first software company in 1992. Since then Nigel has led teams at Crystal Decisions, Business Objects, SAP and most recently at Tableau Software. While at Tableau he served as the Senior Vice President of Customer Solutions since 2011. In this function he grew a small Seattle based team of 29 to a global team servicing customers in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia around the clock.

Nigel has deep experience in all aspects of a technology companies operations having worked and led in finance, technical support, development, product management, sales, pre-sales, services, training and customer success. He is strong advocate for the customer and has always held that customer success and value are the measure of success of companies. It is this success that is the key driver of long term success of technology companies.

Nigel lives in Vancouver British Columbia where he is a father and husband and is passionate about the helping the growth of the city as a technology hub in Canada and North America by helping foster locally managed and operated companies.

She is passionate about building a strong financial infrastructure to enable scalability and growth, re-engineering processes to allow for effectiveness and efficiencies, while developing a high performing team. Fionna’s expertise includes a focus on enhanced financial analytics to allow for clear and informed decision making. Prior to Visier, Fionna held senior Finance roles at organizations including Crystal Decisions/Business Objects, ACL Services, and ResponseTek.

As VP of Business Development, Zack is focused on building strategic partnerships with organizations that believe analytics unlocks critical, untapped value for their customers. Zack manages Visier’s OEM analytics business, where we partner with other software providers to bring world-class analytics to their customers. Prior to Visier, Zack was the co-founder and CEO of Syndio, a people analytics platform that helps business leaders make informed people management decisions around retention, engagement, and driving a more connected organization. Beyond Visier, Zack advises Grammy-nominated artist Mike Posner (Island Records) and regularly lectures on analytics and entrepreneurship at the Kellogg School of Management.

Brett Schwarz has more than twelve years of experience as an attorney in the fields of licensing, intellectual property, and corporate law. Prior to Visier, Brett was Corporate Counsel at VMware, where he was responsible for software licensing, including negotiating commercial agreements, advising on strategic acquisitions, managing open source compliance and contributions, and helping launch VMware’s mobile virtualization platform business. Brett has a particular interest in the field of information privacy and its impact on the development and proliferation of computing technologies.

With over twenty years of Enterprise software sales experience, Mary Beth Wilding has focused in recent years on the complex transformation of HR. Mary Beth specializes in helping HR organizations shift to become more strategic and impactful by driving business results. Most recently, Mary Beth served as Vice President of Sales for Strategic Industries at SAP/SuccessFactors. During her tenure she led multiple teams across the Western United States, driving significant revenue. Prior to SAP/SuccessFactors, Mary Beth worked for SkillSoft and Oracle.

With nearly 20 years of Enterprise Software sales experience, Ken Ferguson has helped build successful sales teams that enable the largest and most complex businesses in the world transform their HR, Finance, and Analytics functions through strategic, and innovative technology solutions. At Visier, he started as VP, Sales, Central Region before becoming SVP, Global Sales. Prior to Visier, Ken served as Director of Sales for Workday in their Large Enterprise and Major Accounts organization, helping their customers not only move to the cloud, but also transform the way they run their businesses. Through his 5 years at Workday, Ken was an integral part of building a strong sales culture, by embracing and operationalizing the idea of continuous innovation in how sales teams communicate value in a disruptive cloud marketplace.  Prior to Workday, Ken served in positions at Enterprise technology companies like Oracle, OutlookSoft, Aria Systems, and Teradata.

Ryan has extensive experience in Business Support and Analytical systems working for companies such as Accenture, SAP/Sybase, and Neustar.

Over the last decade Tyler has dedicated himself to helping global organisations achieve massive operational efficiencies through the deployment of SaaS solutions.  Additionally, Tyler has had unique experiences in opening up European markets to new, innovative SaaS technologies. At Visier, Tyler will have responsibilities for driving the adoption of the Visier solution throughout Europe. Tyler began his career at a Big 4 accounting firm and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

With more than fifteen years of experience in business, sales, and software technologies, Jan has led teams in both start-up and large enterprise environments. Prior to Visier, Jan founded a company that developed small business office software, and grew that company to a top ten highest grossing software product in Australian/New Zealand. Jan has also started and managed businesses based on AJAX web application technologies, marketing and publishing, desktop and server hardware, and e-retailing. Jan began his career at IBM, and over eight years held roles in OS development, emerging voice and video technologies, research, and automotive technologies, including four years as a sales manager serving IBM’s large finance and technology customers.

Adams Street Partners has participated in Visier’s series C and D financings, and is represented on the Visier Board by Robin Murray.

Robin joined Adams Street in 2008 from 3i Ventures where he was a partner from 2001. Previously Robin served as the Chief Financial Officer for two venture-backed startups in Silicon Valley. He has also held positions with McKinsey & Company, J. Sainsbury PLC, and Ernst & Young – all in London.

Based in Adams Street’s Menlo Park office, Robin’s current investments include Donuts, Dynamic Signal, GoCardless, Rimini Street (RMNI), Sauce Labs, and Yeahka. Jas Athwal is Visier’s second independent Board member, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge from high growth technology organizations that will be invaluable to Visier’s continued expansion.

Jas brings over fifteen years of expertise in business finance and planning. He most recently served as the Chief Accounting Officer for Facebook, guiding the company through dramatic growth and a number of complex negotiations and acquisitions through 2017. During his tenure, Jas helped guide Facebook through its historic IPO and successive expansion plans to over $25B in revenue.

Previous to Facebook, Jas was Director of Revenue for Yahoo!, where he ran global revenue operations until 2008. Earlier, he was the Manager of Revenue and Reporting for Extricity and Assurance Supervisor at Grant Thornton LLP.

Jas holds a Bachelor of Science from San Jose State University.

Summit Partners has participated in Visier’s series B and C financing, and is represented on the Visier Board by Greg S. Goldfarb.

Greg S. Goldfarb joined Summit Partners in 2002. Prior to Summit, he worked for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide where he was Director of E-Commerce and Director of Starwood’s Innovation Lab.

Based in Summit’s Menlo Park office, Greg is active in the firm’s investment activities in North America, Europe and Asia, and focuses primarily on the technology and healthcare & life sciences sectors. Rob Rueckert joined Sorenson Capital in 2015 to further expand its existing growth-stage technology practice. Prior to joining Sorenson, Rob spent 14 years at Intel Capital based in Silicon Valley and was a managing director in the consumer technology segment (IoT, wearables, drones, etc..). Rob was a voting member of Intel Capital’s investment committee.


During his tenure at Intel Capital he invested in more than 50 companies across multiple technology sectors (enterprise software, consumer internet, gaming, security, communications, cloud computing and data platforms) and geographies (North America, China, Western and Eastern Europe, India, Israel and New Zealand). Rob was responsible for identifying transformative technology companies where he could invest and work alongside the management teams, primarily in a board capacity, to help the companies grow towards a successful outcome.

At Intel Capital, Rob managed and oversaw more than 20 successful exits from his portfolio, including 4 IPOs and acquisitions by Oracle, Cisco, Microsoft, Fidelity, American Express, Intel and Telefonica.

Some highlights of his investment portfolio include Accertify (acquired by American Express), Perceptive Pixel (acquired by Microsoft) and Datallegro (acquired by Microsoft) as well as active companies Kabam, Nexmo and Betaworks.

Prior to joining Intel Capital, Rob worked as a technology consultant for Arthur Andersen and has worked for several companies in executive roles. Rob has an MBA from the University of Chicago, a bachelor’s degree in information systems from Brigham Young University and is a Kauffman Fellow.

At Foundation Capital, Warren focuses primarily on investments in emerging software companies – both licensed and software as a service – as well as on those in the Cleantech industry. He currently serves on the boards of CLiQr Technologies, ForgeRock, Moxie Software, SilkRoad Technologies, Silver Spring Networks, Trufa and Visier.

Catching emerging technologies and superstar entrepreneurs early is Warren’s passion. His close ties with leading universities and research labs give him a window into innovations in their purest form, and he cherishes the chance to work with the smartest minds in business, whether first-timers or Nobel-Prize winners. His involvement with on-demand software companies and Cleantech began years before investing in those areas became a mainstream event.

Warren joined Foundation Capital in 2002 with more than 25 years experience in the software industry, including time as president and CEO of four public and private software companies. Most recently, he was president and CEO of Asera, a real-time software solutions provider.

Previously, Warren served as president and CEO of Prism Solutions during the company’s transition from data warehousing tools provider to business intelligence application deliverer. Prior to that, Warren was president of SQRIBE Technologies (now Hyperion) and earlier, president and CEO of SMI. Warren has held numerous other senior executive positions at Next Software (Apple), Continuum (Computer Sciences Corporation) and Dun & Bradstreet Software. He holds a BS from Western Illinois University.

Gabrielle Toledano is Visier’s first independent Board member, bringing to Visier a wealth of HR expertise and experience.

Gabrielle Toledano brings over twenty five years of HR expertise to Visier. She is well regarded for her ability to work very successfully with executives on business issues, while consistently advocating for talent at all levels of a company. Gabrielle has a well-documented track record for growing HR talent, having hired and developed many who have become some of Silicon Valley’s most respected and influential HR leaders.

Gabrielle has served as Chief People Officer of Tesla, and Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Facilities of Electronic Arts Inc. Prior to that, she was Chief Human Resources Officer at Siebel Systems preceded by seven years with Microsoft, and five years with Oracle Corporation. Her portfolio has included a wide range of HR assignments including international work, most notably in Latin America.

Gabrielle is bilingual and received her bachelor and master degrees from Stanford University, followed by a Rotary Scholarship assignment in Santiago, Chile. Gabrielle served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Human Resources Management, TalentSky, Jhana and Jive Software. She is currently on the Board of Directors of Glu Mobile and Namely, in addition to the Visier Board of Directors. Gabrielle currently serves as Executive in Residence for Comcast Ventures.
