Visier Appoints Adam Binnie as Head of New Markets and Innovation

Vancouver, BC and San Jose, CA |

Former SAP executive reunites with other SAP and Business Objects veterans at Visier

Visier, an innovation leader in workforce analytics and planning, today announced that Adam Binnie has joined the company as Head of New Markets and Innovation. Binnie — who was previously SVP of Emerging Products at SAP — will draw on his extensive experience in the business intelligence space to guide Visier’s expansion plans into new markets.

“Adam has the right combination of strategic and tactical skills to develop and deliver on big picture goals. This, combined with his rich background, will put Visier in a strong position to extend its leadership in the emerging category of Applied Big Data solutions, which seek to empower business professionals with actionable insight from Big Data,” says Dave Weisbeck, Chief Strategy Officer, Visier.

With Adam Binnie’s appointment, Visier now has four Business Objects and SAP veterans in senior management roles at the company, including: John Schwarz, Visier’s CEO (former CEO for Business Objects, and member of SAP board); Ryan Wong, Visier’s CTO (former Senior Vice President of Engineering for the Business Intelligence Platform at SAP, and Chief Architect and VP of Engineering at Business Objects); and Dave Weisbeck (former Senior Vice President and General Manager responsible for Business Intelligence, Enterprise Information Management and Data Warehousing at SAP, and VP of BI Platform Solution Management at Business Objects).

“I am excited to be joining the amazing team at Visier. With so many former colleagues it feels like home already, and now we have a new mission: changing the way organizations ask and answer business questions with actionable data,” says Binnie.

After graduating from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Computer Engineering, Binnie began his career as a computer programmer and sales consultant. He then moved into a product management role at Business Objects, introducing new products such as Crystal Reports for Java and BusinessObjects Explorer. At SAP, Adam introduced Streamwork and Lumira. In 2010, his focus shifted towards managing the future direction for the overall portfolio of business intelligence solutions across SAP as the General Manager for Business Intelligence.

Visier was founded in 2010 to disrupt traditional business intelligence approaches. Powered by a multi-dimensional, in-memory analytics engine, Visier processes data 250,000 times faster than traditional BI technology.

With Visier, organizations can leverage data from unlimited sources to predict how workforce behaviors (such as future employee recruitment, promotion, and turnover patterns) will change, and use this insight to create, analyze and collaborate on plans to optimize the workforce.
