SPRING 2019 Release

Visier People’s SPRING 2019 update includes an exciting new visualization that provides new insight into changing data over time and adds the ground-breaking What-If feature to Talent and Talent Acquisition. In addition, we’ve addressed some of the top voted requests from our community and have redesigned our security administration. We’re excited about all of these changes and look forward to sharing them with you.

What-If Models

Analytics shows you what is and what will be, through predictions–Visier has now added the option to easily project possible futures with three new models that leverage our unique “What-If” capability.

Users have long been leveraging insight to make better decisions and the addition of the “What-If” models will enable them to assess the impact of potential changes so that they can better plan for the future. Users can apply one or more assumptions about future conditions, and Visier will show the projected outcome, giving users the information they need to make the right decision to meet their business objectives.

Answer the questions like:

  • What will headcount be if start and exit rates change? (Visier People: Talent)
  • How could the hiring outcomes change the projected headcount?” (Visier People: Talent Acquisition)
  • How could the hiring outcomes change the projected employee female ratio? (Visier People: Talent Acquisition)

For now the models are not open to customization due to the complex nature of the calculations. Visier will continue to build out new What-If models in future releases.

HR Effectiveness Metrics

Just how effective is the HR team? This can now be measured using Visier People. The addition of a series of metrics and analysis questions enables you to identify where and how your HR people are deployed and whether or not the coverage within the function is helping to improve key people outcomes.

Once a sufficient number of Visier customers are using this new content we will be able to generate the benchmarks which enable comparison to peer organizations by industry or location.

We’ve added a new HR Effectiveness Guidebook to Organization and the following metrics and concept:

  • HR Employee Ratio
  • HR FTE Ratio
  • HR Labor Costs per Employee
  • Manager to HRBP Ratio
  • Manager to HR Recruiting Ratio
  • HR Employee (Concept using Job Name to identify who has a role in HR)

These new metrics will enable you to evaluate the efficiency and impact of the HR team on the organization and HR has enough staff to effectively support the workforce.

Analyse Usage of Visier People

It is one thing to build and deliver great insights. It is another for people to access and use them. We know that deploying Visier People to your organization requires careful work and constant reinforcement. We have introduced a range of usage analyses for you to leverage as you work to increase the adoption of people analytics across the organization.

With the introduction of usage metrics your People Analytics team can now track things like:

  • Who is logging in
  • Who is creating new content
  • Which analyses are being accessed
  • And more..

Note: This content will only be available after GA. This is due to how data needs to be loaded to present a true picture of your usage. There will be a new Usage Topic in the Organization Guidebook. Access for end-users has to be granted in the security configuration, as usage is a net new dataset.

New D&I Analyses

In May, Visier announced a Diversity & Inclusion solution targeted at Diversity executives that want to start using analytics to drive change across their organization. This solution is made up of Visier People: Organization and new diversity questions that use a subset of content from Visier People: Talent.

We’ve added these new diversity questions to the Diversity guidebook in Organization for Visier People Talent customers to leverage. Visier People: Talent customers have and will continue to have access to all of the content that we include in Visier People: D&I.


Data Connectors

Visier brings together data from your on-premise sources, cleans & models it into HR metrics that answer critical questions about your people. Now, with Visier Data Connectors, you can access these same metrics & data downstream, leveraging all that work and keeping Visier as your single source of truth. Visier Data Connectors allows you to access Visier metrics & data from outside Visier so that you can embed it in portals, perform additional analysis in other BI tools solutions, such as Excel or Tableau, or feed data and metrics to another data store.

The process to leverage Visier data is simple:

  1. Create data connector in Visier consisting of pre-aggregated metrics or cleansed records.
  2. Users or applications outside Visier can then request the data it contains using a simple, secure URL.

Take advantage of this easy, and secure, method of sharing Visier prepared data and metrics to continue to expand your organization’s adoption of analytics.

Property History Visual

Visier’s new Property History Visual offers a simple and effective way to analyze slowly changing data over time. This helps users to either to compare, for example one’s person’s change to another’s, or to align with other changes, for example an employee’s compensation, to management, to span of control. Use the Property History visual to see the history of changes to data properties over time for:

  • Subjects, such as employee, applicant, or requisition
  • Events, such as exit, pay change, internal placement

When the visualization is used for a single subject you can compare the changes of multiple properties (such as manager, performance rating, base pay for an employee) at the same time.

Such a visualization would prepare a manager or HRBP with a holistic picture of the history of a subject and prepare them to have a rich, productive conversation.

For an employee, this would enable you to answer questions such as:

  • What managers has the employee had during their time at the organization? How as the employee’s span of control changed over time?
  • What and when were there pay changes?
  • What different roles have they had at the company?
  • How does the timing of a change coincide with changes in performance or risk of exit?

Create or reorder the visualized properties to create custom views and capture analysis to reuse and share with others.

In addition the property history view can also be used to compare the changes to a single property (eg. Base Pay or Span of control) across multiple subject members (eg Employees). Answer questions such as:

  • What are the changes to span of control for my directs?
  • When did each member of my team last get pay raises?
  • Which team members are progressing over time in terms of performance?

Customer Feedback

Time Window Control

We’ve added a single point of control for setting time context in Explorer that makes it much easier to specify the time range you are interested in analyzing. This new control is available with the Trend, Trend Breakdown, Data Table, and Pipeline trend visuals.

Data Labels on Trend Charts

You can now add data labels to data points on trend charts. The labels can be shown or hidden as needed. When shown, the labels will appear in view, but also in captured and exported analyses.

Find Employee on the Organization Visualization

The Organization Visualization provides an impactful view of the organization and a person’s place within it. We’ve added the ability to find a specific employee to further extend the visualization’s usability. When you search for and find an employee, you can see the path for the employee back to the ‘top’ of the Supervisory Hierarchy.

System Administration

Lifecycle 2.0

To enable you to better manage changes to your tenant and the rollout to end users, we’re updating the existing workflows that govern updates. Changes include:

  • New constructs called Projects and Revisions
  • A dedicated project management page
  • Improved user experience
  • The ability to collaborate
  • Revamped mental model

These changes are all intended to allow for review of changes and a measured, controlled rollout to your users.

Security is a critical component of Visier, enabling you to give broad access to users with different requirements and privileges. We’re streamlining the security configuration experience to make it easier to use by:

  • Reducing the number of clicks required to select subjects, events, and overlays.
  • Simplifying the terminology to make it easier to understand your options.
  • Adding new data and population access managers.
  • Improving the lineage and user experience.

Visier Benchmarks

The quarterly Visier Benchmarks publication is scheduled for release with General Availability of SPRING 2019. This data set will include Benchmark Reports for 2018 and Benchmark Trends for Q4 2018.
