An analysis is a document that describes a collection of analytical content to analyze and understand a particular use case. While you can generate your own Analysis, each Visier application is delivered with a set of standard analyses.

A metric is a value that is computed from the Subject and Events for a particular group of entities in a particular time frame. An example of a metric is "Turnover Rate."

| Active Project Assignment Utilization | The percentage of available employee FTE that is allocated to active projects at the end of the period. |
| Average Active Project Assignment FTE | The average FTE allocation for project assignments active at the end of the period. |
| Average Project Assignment FTE in Period | The average FTE allocation for project assignments active at any point during the period. |
| Employee Project Utilization Ratio | The percentage of available employee FTE that is allocated to active projects, weighted by their FTE factor during the period. |
| Project Assignment Count in Period | The number of project assignments active at any point during the period. |
| Project Assignment FTE-Days | The total amount of days employees were assigned to a project, weighted by the projects FTE allocation during the period. |
| Project Assignment Intersectionality FTE Ratio | The percentage of project assignment time that is allocated to employees who belong to a particular ethnicity and/or gender group for project assignments active during the period. |
| Project Assignment Minority FTE Ratio (US) | The percentage of project assignment time that is allocated to minorities, based on US minority categories, for project assignments active during the period. |
| Project Assignment Standard Minority FTE Ratio | The percentage of project assignment time that is allocated to minorities, based on minority categories per country, for project assignments active during the period. |
| Project Assignment Women FTE Ratio | The percentage of project assignment time that is allocated to women for project assignments active during the period. |
| Total Active Project Assignment FTE | The sum of the FTE allocation for project assignments active at the end of the period. |
A dimension is created from a concept or property and contains all the potential values. It is then used to allow filtering and grouping of the content. Dimensions can be hierarchical. An example of a dimension is "Generation" which groups employees by the year of their birth.

Visier employs a large range of analytical concepts, these define expected and desired analytical objects. Each concept allows configuration so that the concept can be employed by you. An example of a concept is "Involuntary Turnover" which allows you to define the types of turnover that are to be considered as involuntary.

Subjects are entities that evolve and change. They have properties and changes to those properties are captured over time. An example of a subject is "Employee."
