Procurement Specialist – Vancouver, Canada

Visier is seeking a motivated Procurement Specialist to join our growing Finance team. In this newly created role reporting to VP, Finance and working closely with Director of IT and Facilities and the Legal department, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services for Visier with the primary focus on IT purchases.

The successful candidate will have strong communication and organization skills, and proven expertise in reviewing, negotiating and finalizing purchasing contracts with external vendors and suppliers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze and review purchasing contracts, and successfully negotiate pricing and contract terms with vendors and suppliers
  • Actively source and make recommendations on vendor selection based on business requirements
  • Act as business partner to internal stakeholders as a means to understand business group requirements and provide advice on contract terms and subsequent changes
  • Prepare and manage purchase orders in ERP system (NetSuite)
  • Resolve transactional issues and pricing or terms discrepancies existing between contracts and invoices
  • Improve overall procurement process through the development of process documentation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors

Qualifications

 

 

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Procurement or Supply Chain
  • Previous experience with indirect sourcing, including contract negotiations, securing competitive pricing, and finalizing purchasing contracts for IT products and services
  • Familiarity with contracts, legal terms and conditions relating specifically to the procurement of IT products and services
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
